Farming Simulator 2009 gives you the chance to be a farmer and experience just what it’s like to be involved in this age-old activity. Be warned, if you’re looking for anything else apart from…farming, then you may just be a tad bit disappointed.
So you start off by inheriting the farmer’s duties on an island. Things commence at your meagre farming centre, which consists of your basic tractor and other harvesting materials. The controls are pretty simply to use, with movement and speed assigned to the keyboard. But lets get to the meat of the game: farming.
The majority of the “game” involves delivering corn, wheat, grain or carnola to either the mill, brewery, or port. You must first thresh the desired crop, transporting it to a trailer and, using your tractor, deliver the crops to the desired destination.
You also have tools for sowing, ploughing and spraying fertilizer. Depending on your preference, you can choose to grow whatever crop you like. It may be a shocking revelation, but that is pretty much what this game is about.
By pressing ‘I,’ you’ll bring up your PDA (farmers back in the day never had it so good) which gives you useful information, including the prices that the different destinations are buying particular crops at. This brings in your strategic farming mind to ensure that you deliver the crop to the place that’ll give you the highest return for your hard work.
